Philosophy of Education
The mission of Islands of Fun Learning Center is to provide a developmentally appropriate, safe, and nurturing environment that promotes physical, social emotional, and cognitive growth to the children. Our focus is to provide a successful and positive educational experience for the children. We strive for positive interactions with our parents and want them to be involved with their child’s education.
Islands of Fun Learning Center promotes school readiness of children ages 15 months through 5 years old, and has an approach to enrich each child. The creative curriculum that we use allows children not only to develop in literacy and math skills but also in cognitive, social emotional and physical skills. The curriculum is developmentally appropriate and prepares children for success after their time at Islands of Fun. Small group activities allow the teachers to assess each child in social emotional, cognitive, and physical growth and strive for the best learning for each child.
Kendall Sallar
Executive Director
Kendall Sallar is the Owner and Executive Director at Islands of Fun Learning Center. She is a graduate of The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth with a Bachelors of Science in Liberal Arts, with minor degrees in both English and Psychology. She has worked as a Preschool Teacher and Lead Teacher for the past seven years at CFC Head Start and has continued her post graduate education along the way. She is Director Certified with the state of Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care.
Kendall’s goal has always been to open her own center. Her passion for early childhood education and her love for her students is evident in everything that she does. She is committed to running a center that is safe, fun and educational, with an open door policy where parents are involved in decisions regarding their children’s education.
